A Cackling Goose, presumably the same individual discovered by Jeff McQueen yesterday at Lake Morey, was first spotted today in a flock of 18 Canada Geese flying north over Orford, after which the flock veered west in the direction of Lake Morey. We relocated the flock on the water in close to the west shore just north of the boat launch. After about 3 minutes, the flock took off and settled farther out where it was joined by about 10 additional Canadas. Six Common Loons were also spotted on the lake.
