This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, January 26th, 
2011.



A TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was reported from the vicinity of Sterling Place and 
Putney Road in Bow on January 1st, has been seen many times since then, and 
was last reported on the 21st. The bird has often been seen in a tall dead 
birch tree visible from Sterling Place, or feeding in surrounding fruit 
trees. The bird is in a residential area and if you look for it please 
remember to respect property rights and individual privacy.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen in Exeter on January 25th.



A NORTHERN FULMAR was seen in Hampton Harbor on January 22nd.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen in Seabrook in the parking area located just south 
of the Route 1A bridge on January 22nd.



A male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE has seen several times on the Merrimack River near 
the Waumbec Mill in Manchester during the past week. Also present on the 
Merrimack River in Manchester during the past week have been up to 4 GREAT 
CORMORANTS, and several BALD EAGLES.



A BLACK GUILLEMOT continues to be seen in Rye Harbor and was last reported 
on January 22nd. A RAZORBILL was reported from Portsmouth Harbor on the 
22nd.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Spofford on January 25th, and one was seen in 
Peterborough on the 18th.



WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL sightings during the past week included one in Antrim 
on January 25th, one in Rochester on the 20th, and 4 in Nashua on the 18th 
and 19th



A flock of 10 COMMON REDPOLLS was seen in Seabrook on January 22nd.



BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS sightings during the past week included over 300 on the 
Plymouth State University campus on January 25th, 35 on Coe Hill Road in 
Center Harbor on the 25th, and 82 behind the Family Resource Center in 
Gorham on the 19th.



4 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, a SNOW BUNTING, and 80 HORNED LARKS were seen at the 
Stuart Farm in Stratham on January 23rd.



50 SNOW BUNTINGS and 100 HORNED LARKS were reported from the Agway lot in 
Walpole on January 21st.



25 SNOW BUNTINGS and 40 HORNED LARKS were reported from the marsh located 
west of Route 1A near Concord Point in Rye on January 23rd.



A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen in Hampton Harbor on January 22nd.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Nashua on January 26th



A BROWN THRASHER was seen in Epsom on January 22nd.



A KILLDEER was seen in Hampton on January 20th.



A FIELD SPARROW was reported from Rochester on January 20th.



A TURKEY VULTURE was reported from Manchester on January 20th.



A WINTER WREN was reported from Durham on January 23rd.



There were several reports of EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, CHIPPING SPARROWS, and 
CAROLINA WRENS during the past week.
