A friend who lives in East Thetford just told me he saw a sandhill crane in the corn stubble behind his house recently. A brief scan of the recent NH rare bird alerts mentions sandhill cranes several times but generally closer to the coast. 
Has anyone else seen one in the Upper Valley?
