This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, December 7th, 
2015.



A SNOWY OWL was seen flying along the coast from Hampton Beach State Park on 
December 1st, and 1 was seen at Rye Harbor State Park on the 6th and 7th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was reported from Airport Marsh on Hazen Road in 
Whitefield on December 4th



A THICK-BILLED MURRE and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were seen along the coast on 
December 5th, and 2 RAZORBILLS, and 10 BLACK GUILLEMOTS were seen along the 
coast on December 6th.



Birders on a fishing boat out of Hampton Harbor reported 6 NORTHERN FULMARS, 
13 GREAT SHEARWATERS, 1 RAZORBILL, and 4 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES on December 
5th.



2 male EURASIAN WIGEONS, over 230 AMERICAN WIGEONS, a GADWALL, and a 
NORTHERN PINTAIL were all seen on Great Bay during the past week



A male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE was seen on the Androscoggin River in Errol on 
November 22nd, 23rd. and 30th.



A GLAUCOUS GULL continues to be seen on the Seabrook side of Hampton Harbor, 
and was last reported on December 5th, and an ICELAND GULL and a FISH CROW 
were seen at Rockingham Park in Salem on December 3rd.



2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS and 12 RUDDY DUCKS were seen at Willand Pond in 
Somersworth on December 5th.



A GREAT WHITE HERON was reported several times from Chase Brook Pond in 
Litchfield during the past week, and was last reported on December 2nd. Its 
identity was confirmed with photographs. The GREAT WHITE HERON is considered 
by most authorities to be a subspecies (Ardea herodias occidentalis) rather 
than a color morph of the GREAT BLUE HERON. It is mainly found in southern 
Florida.



6 RED CROSSBILLS were reported from Trudeau Road in Bethlehem on December 
1st, and 23 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen there on the 4th. 5 BOREAL 
CHICKADEES were reported from Trudeau Road in Bethlehem on December 4th.



20 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on December 1st.



8 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen at the Lancaster School on December 6th.



A DICKCISSEL has been seen regularly visiting a birdfeeder at a private 
residence located off of South Road in East Kingston, and was last reported 
on December 1st.



A WHITE CROWNED SPARROW was seen in Portsmouth on December 5th, and a FOX 
SPARROW was seen in Hudson on the 4th.



A GRAY CATBIRD was seen at the Urban Forestry Center in Portsmouth on 
December 5th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at Hampton Harbor on December 5th.



A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen in Sunapee on December 6th.



A TURKEY VULTURE was seen in Exeter on December 1st.



A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported from Hinsdale on December 5th.



A PINE WARBLER and an EASTERN PHOEBE were seen at the Seabrook Wastewater 
Treatment Plant on December 6th.



An AMERICAN PIPIT and 4 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were seen along the coast in 
Rye on December 6th.



A GREATER YELLOWLEGS was seen along the coast in Rye on December 6th.



A CAROLINA WREN was seen in Lyme on December 1st.



A LESSER SCAUP was seen on the Connecticut River in Lebanon on December 2nd.



13 RUDDY DUCKS were seen at Lake Massabesic in Auburn on December 2nd.



54 COMMON GOLDENEYES were seen on Lake Winnisquam in Belmont on December 
1st.
