There were 7 American Pipits on the exposed mudflats late yesterday afternoon at the Jacob’s Brook Outflow in Orford. This is something of a late spring migration record for the Upper valley, though Jeff MacQueen saw 2 at Tullando Farm on the 13th, and there were several sightings as recently as the 16th and 17th in Charlestown, NH area. Also present were 5 Least Sandpipers and a Killdeer as well as two broods of Wood Ducks numbering a total of 20 tiny fledglings.
