Janet and I have both been enjoying Ted’s morning ramblings. If you haven’t read his books, you should. He is an amazing writer. His book on the Everglades is insightful.

Woke up yesterday to a Mockingbird dangling from my feeder. It was enjoying the woodpecker food, nuts and a little dried fruit. I was quite surprised.

Firsts for the season: Sapsucker, Tree Swallow and Flicker.

The bluebirds keep checking out my dilapidated house. It has a crack in the roof. I am not sure it would be my first choice. Is anyone building bluebird houses and would like to sell a few?

We are happy to have birders come to the farm. You can access us here at the farm or by way of the Post Mills church parking lot. You can also access the Taylor Flood Plain Preserve.
