I've had a bumper crop of Rose-Breasted and Evening Grosbeaks at my feeder
this summer, not t mention Purple Finches , Goldfinches, Juncos, Nuthatches,
Doves and Woodpeckers. I hear a constant mewing of young Grosbeaks, whose
parents are feeding them sunflower seeds...or they are learning to get their
own...sort of. Pretty funny when they first try to land on the feeder.
There are 2 Hairy kids, also being fed or learning to eat sunflowers. I find
it a bit odd. I hope they are not neglecting their woodpecker skills.

Also in full song are Hermit Thrush duets, Ovenbirds, Scarlet Tanagers,
Veery, Red-eyed Vireo....life is good!

Here's a feeding sequence- Evening Grosbeak and chick, taken through my
(dirty!) window:

Happy Birding!
