This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, June 5th, 2017.



There was an unconfirmed report of a female LAZULI BUNTING from Star Island, 
one of the Isles of Shoals, on May 29th.



At least 2 MISSISSIPPI KITES are nesting in Newmarket and they have been 
seen several times during the past week.



An immature male and a female KING EIDER were seen off of Little Boar’s Head 
in Hampton on June 4th.



A THICK-BILLED MURRE continues to be seen in coastal Rye and was last 
reported from north of Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on June 4th. A BLACK 
GUILLEMOT continues to be seen in Rye Harbor.



A LITTLE BLUE HERON with first-spring plumage was seen from Lancy Brook Road 
in wetlands near the Brookline Airport on June 5th.



2 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS were seen in coastal Rye on May 31st, and 5 were 
seen off the coast from Concord Point in Rye on June 3rd.



A CASPIAN TERN was seen off of the coast in Rye on June 4th, and a FORSTER’S 
TERN was reported from coastal Rye on June 1st.



A LEAST TERN was seen incubating at least 1 egg on the beach at Hampton 
Beach State Park on June 3rd.



An ARCTIC TERN was seen at Star Island in the Isles of Shoals on June 3rd, 
and there were several ROSEATE TERNS seen along the coast during the past 
week.



2 NORTHERN SHOVELERS were seen at Pickering Ponds in Rochester on June 1st, 
and a LESSER SCAUP was seen there on May 30th.



A NELSON’S SPARROW was heard at Chapman’s Landing in Stratham on June 1st.



An ACADIAN FLYCATHER was reported from Hampton on June 1st.



A female GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, and a RED CROSSBILL were seen at Odiorne 
Point State Park in Rye on June 1st.



2 RED CROSSBILLS and an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER were reported from NH Audubon’s 
Watts Sanctuary in Effingham on June 4th.



A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was seen at Boston Lot Lake in Lebanon on May 31st.



There were several BICKNELL’S THUSHES reported from expected sites in the 
White Mountains during the past week.



A female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen near Waumbek Junction at the 
Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on June 4th.



Up to 5 PURPLE MARTINS were seen in Seabrook on June 4th, and 1 was seen at 
Star Island in the Isles of Shoals on May 29th.



GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS continue to be reported from their usual locations.
