A fun flock of black scoters visited Post Pond this morning around 9:00.
About 21 of them, they only stayed about 20 min., but they seemed to enjoy
the time here. Later, around 11 AM, an adult bald eagle made an attempt to
snag one of the two remaining loons, pretty sure it was the juvenile from
this years two chick brood- one disappeared earlier in the summer... lot's
of flapping and wing churning and spray, while the eagle soared in tight
circles above for about three minutes.... the loon dove, and surfaced a
distance away a few moments later.... the eagle did not reappear....
