Although I couldn't locate the Snowy Egret this morning, Campbell Flats
featured a nice assortment of local and transient birds. Highlights
among 35 species:
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Eastern Phoebe 4
Blue-headed Vireo 1
Warbling Vireo 2 one singing
Philadelphia Vireo 1 observed clearly at close range; within 2 meters of Blue-headed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo 5 1 singing
House Wren 5
Veery 1 calling
American Robin 20 loose foraging flock along west edge of corn field; likely more birds present
Gray Catbird 8
Mourning Warbler 1 seen clearly along woods edge N of corn field; dove into corn
Common Yellowthroat 10
Northern Parula 1
Wilson's Warbler 2
White-throated Sparrow 4
Savannah Sparrow 6
Song Sparrow 16
Swamp Sparrow 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1
Indigo Bunting 15 minimum number, including 3 adult males in heavy molt, one w/o tail; one heard sing briefly
