This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, April 15th, 
2019.



A TRUMPETER SWAN was seen at NH Audubon’s Abe Emerson Marsh in Candia on 
April 13th, 14th, and 15th.



An adult LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen in a wetland along Great Rock Road in 
Sandwich on April 15th.



A flock of 10 SANDHILL CRANES was seen in Concord on April 12th, a flock of 
16 was reported from Jackson on the 13th, 1 was seen along the Connecticut 
River in Hanover on the 10th, and 1 was seen in Deerfield on the 12th.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in Barrington on April 14th.



2 BLACK VULTURES were seen in Contoocook on April 12th, and 2 were seen in 
Westmoreland on the 13th.



2 CASPIAN TERNS were seen at Wilson Pond in Swanzey on April 9th.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen on the Connecticut River at the Wilder 
Dam on April 8th, 1 was seen in coastal Rye on the 8th, and 1 was seen at 
the Upper Suncook Recreation Area in Center Barnstead on the 12th.



2 BONAPARTE’S GULLS were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on April 
13th, and a few LAUGHING GULLS were seen on the coast during the past week.



3 SNOW GEESE were seen in Lancaster on April 9th, and 1 was seen in Concord 
on the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th. A flock of 35 BRANT was seen in coastal 
Rye on April 10th.



A pair of NORTHERN SHOVELERS was seen in Nashua on April 9th, a pair was 
seen in Laconia on the 9th, and a pair was seen in Concord on the 12th.



3 HORNED GREBES, 3 RED-NECKED GREBES, 2 SURF SCOTERS, a LONG-TAILED DUCK, 3 
GADWALL, 4 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 2 RUDDY DUCKS, and 2 BLUE-WINGED TEAL were 
seen on the Connecticut River and in the Connecticut River valley during the 
past week. 2 RED-NECKED GREBES were seen in Laconia on April 9th, and 7 were 
seen at World End Pond in Salem on the 15th.



A few GREATER SCAUP and numerous LESSER SCAUP were reported from scattered 
inland locations during the past week.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Warren on April 13th.



2 GLOSSY IBIS were seen in Hampton on April 13th, and 3 were seen in North 
Hampton on the 15th.



2 ICELAND GULLS were seen in Exeter on April 13th, and 2 GLAUCOUS GULLS were 
seen in Rochester on the 12th.



A flock of 105 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen in West Lebanon on April 12th.



A flock of 23 EVENING GROSBEAKS, and a flock of 88 COMMON REDPOLLS were all 
seen at a feeding station in Jefferson, all on April 8th. A flock of 70 
COMMON REDPOLLS was seen in Warren on the 15th, a flock of 12 was seen in 
Jackson on the 13th, and a few flocks of COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in the 
Connecticut River valley during the past week.



2 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in East Kingston on April 10th, 1 was seen in 
Canaan on the 14th, and 1 was seen in Epping on the 9th.



4 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen in Shelburne on April 9th and 10th.



A few WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS and FOX SPARROWS were reported from scattered 
locations during the past week.



2 PIPING PLOVERS were seen at Hampton Beach on April 10th.



A few NORTHERN HARRIERS were reported from scattered locations during the 
past week.



3 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS were seen in Nashua on April 9th, 1 was 
seen in Salem on the 9th, and 2 were seen in Hinsdale on the 14th. A BARN 
SWALLOW was seen in Rochester on the 12th.



A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported from East Kingston on April 11th, 2 
were reported from Atkinson on the 13th, and 1 was reported from 
Westmoreland on the 14th.



A few BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, EASTERN TOWHEES, and BROWN THRASHERS were 
reported from southern counties on April 13th and 14th.



A GRAY CATBIRD was reported from Errol on April 8th.



4 VESPER SPARROWS were reported from the Concord Airport on April 14th.



7 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen in Sunapee on April 14th.
