This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, August 8th, 
2016.



3 MISSISSIPPI KITES were seen in Newmarket on August 7th.



A SANDHILL CRANE has been seen somewhat regularly in a partially mowed 
hayfield along Route 127 in West Hopkinton since July 19th and was last 
reported on August 5th. The bird has also been seen several times at the 
nearby Elm Brook Park.



An ATLANTIC PUFFIN was seen in coastal waters on August 2nd, and over 10 
CORY’S SHEARWATERS were seen in coastal waters on the 7th.



A FORSTER’S TERN, 25 ROSEATE TERNS, 5 PIPING PLOVERS, and a PEREGRINE FALCON 
were seen in Hampton Harbor on August 6th.



An immature LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen south of Odiorne Point State Park in 
Rye in the marsh located on the west side of Route 1A, on August 7th and 
8th.



A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen in a marsh on Worthley Avenue in 
Seabrook on August 8th.



10 GREEN HERONS were counted in a rookery in Milford on August 5th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER and 15 LEAST SANDPIPERS were seen at World End Pond in 
Salem on August 6th.



A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was seen in coastal Rye on August 6th, and 1 was 
seen in Hampton Marsh on the 7th.



A RUDDY DUCK was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on August 
2nd.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Hollis on August 4th.



4 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were reported from Freedom on August 4th.



A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was heard in Webster on August 4th, and a 
BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was seen in Randolph on the 8th.



2 TENNESSEE WARBLERS were seen in South Sutton on August 6th, and a CAPE MAY 
WARBLER was seen in New London on the 8th.
