This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, July 28th, 
2010.



2 MANX SHEARWATERS and 5 GREAT SHEARWATERS were reported from the coast on 
July 24th.



Birders on the Granite State Whale Watch out of Rye Harbor reported a MANX 
SHEARWATER, a CORY'S SHEARWATER, 8 GREAT SHEARWATERS, 120 WILSON'S 
STORM-PETRELS, 12 NORTHERN GANNETS, and an unidentified JAEGER species all 
on July 27th, and 30 GREAT SHEARWATERS, 8 SOOTY SHEARWATERS, a CORY'S 
SHEARWATER, a MANX SHEARWATER, and 2 PHALAROPES whose species remains 
unidentified, all on July 23rd.



20 WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 9 NORTHERN GANNETS. 37 GREAT EGRETS, 21 SNOWY 
EGRETS, a MERLIN, a PEREGRINE FALCON, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, 115 
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER, 12 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 17 LESSER 
YELLOWLEGS, 3 RUDDY TURNSTONES, 15 SANDERLINGS, 318 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 
50 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 11 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 26 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 1 
LEAST TERN, 5 ROSEATE TERNS, and 119 COMMON TERNS were reported from along 
the coast on July 25th.



5 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, and 5 CLIFF SWALLOWS were seen on Surry Lake on 
July 23rd.



3 GLOSSY IBISES, 5 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, and 3 GREEN HERONS were 
reported from Hampton Marsh on July 21st.



A NELSON'S SPARROW was reported from a marsh area off of Locke Road in Rye 
on July 23rd



7 PIED-BILLED GREBES including 2 chicks and 3 GREEN HERONS were reported 
from the Brentwood Mitigation Area on July 22nd.



Several EVENING GROSBEAKS and a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO were reported from 
Rumney on July 27th.



12 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen along Route 13 near the Mont Vernon town line 
on July 24th.



A SCISSORTAIL FLYCATCHER is being seen in the Sandy Point section of Plum 
Island, Massachusetts, and has been present for several days. It has been 
frequenting the farthest most point to the right as you walk out to the 
beach and often perching on driftwood.
