Mirroring (perhaps) the late movement of Northern Pintails on Lake
Champlain, where 29 were reported yesterday from Colchester, 3 birds (2
males and a female) were an unexpected find below the Ledyard Bridge
today at noon. One male was dabbling with Mallards in a band of open
water in the inner Montshire cove (west of the RR tracks), while a pair
was swimming together on the east side of the tracks. They were the
first I've seen of this species all fall.

Other waterfowl included 7 Canada Geese, a late female Wood Duck, 1 Am.
Black Duck, 70 Mallards, and 4 Hooded Mergansers.

Chris
