I wasn't home yesterday, so perhaps these two new arrivals came
yesterday. But today, Tues, was first of year for the Gray Catbird
(very quiet) and a male Baltimore Oriole in my yard in Lyme Center.

Yet another warning about wood ticks. I went birding in some brushy
areas around Post Pond this morning and came out INFESTED with ticks.

At Post Pond, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Swamp Sparrow,
Warbling Vireo, Green Heron, Green-winged Teal and Wood Duck present
along with many of the usual suspects. It looks like European
Starlings and Tree Swallows are nesting neighbors in a big condo, i.e.
a big, standing dead elm.

Fun birding,

Peg Ackerson
