Yesterday (Sunday) I had my first VT record of a Red-bellied
Woodpecker, calling from the oak-maple-beech woods around my house in
Norwich. It stayed only briefly before flying off to the
south. Being that this is the final year of the VT Breeding Bird
Atlas, all Upper Valley birders are encouraged to make a special
effort to document the nesting status this northward-expanding species.

I also had 2 singing Pine Warblers and the season's first 3 Tree
Swallows, plus a male E. Bluebird investigating a next box.

Today at VINS in Quechee, single Yellow-rumped and Pine warblers singing.

Chris
