Stopping at Kilowatt this morning, I was surprised to find 2 full adult
Common Loons. I was even more intrigued by the low water and
possibility that some migrant shorebirds might have dropped out with
last night's weather. So, I zipped up to Pompy Flats, which are
extensively exposed and had 18 Semipalmated Plovers and a single Least
Sandpiper. A better find was in the Montshire Cove at Ledyard, which
hosted 20 Semi Plovers, 32 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 2 Leasts, and 5
Dunlin. Terrific views from the RR tracks.

This kind of shorebird fallout is all too rare in Windsor County, so I
hope people can get out there ASAP!

Chris
