Hadn't paid much attention to the finch like birds that have been at my feeders. I had been thinking that they were all the American Golfinch that have been here all summer, but now in their winter plumage. Today I took a closer look. I have a few pine siskins coming to my new feeder on the deck as well as the ususl feeders nearer the garage and dog kennel. The birds have the striped chest and also noted the yellow on the wings with the help of binos.
The new feeder is great. It is all metal and hopefully will survive the red squirrels.
