This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 30th, 
2013.



A BLACK SKIMMER and a LITTLE GULL were seen in Hampton Harbor on July 24th, 
and a LEAST TERN and 8 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen there on the 
25th.



2 MISSISSIPPI KITES were seen from Gonet Drive in Newmarket on July 28th.



2 SANDHILL CRANES continue to be reported from fields along Route 135 in 
Monroe.



A BLACK VULTURE was seen from the summit of Pack Monadnock in Peterborough 
on July 30th.



10 GLOSSY IBIS and 4 FISH CROWS were reported from the Hampton Harbor area 
on July 27th.



A WHIMBREL was seen in Hampton Harbor on July 27th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen along Route 286 in Seabrook on July 22nd.



A BLUE-WINGED TEAL was seen in Hampton Marsh on July 22nd.



Several PURPLE MARTINS were reported from along Cross Beach Road in 
Seabrook, and several were reported from Great East Lake in Wakefield, all 
during the past week.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen near the “pothole rocks” on the Caps 
Ridge Trail in Jefferson Notch on July 25th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER and a GRAY JAY were reported from East Inlet in 
Pittsburg on July 26th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen from the boardwalk on the Mud Pond Trail 
at the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on July 27th.



A family of 4 MERLINS was reported from Chatham on July 26th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in coastal Rye on July 27th.



A TENNESSEE WARBLER was reported from Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch on 
July 27th.



There was an unconfirmed report of an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN from the 
Tamworth and Conway area on July 29th.
