This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012.
A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen at a nest site on Mount Magalloway in
Pittsburg on July 2nd.
2 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were seen along the Mount Washington Auto Road on June
30th.
An adult PALM WARBLER was seen feeding 2 chicks at Mud Pond in the
Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on July 2nd.
A MOURNING WARBLER was seen along GP Boulevard in Pittsburg on July 2nd.
An EVENING GROSBEAK was reported from Roxbury on June 29th.
A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was reported from Ashland on June 28th, and 1 was
reported from Roxbury on the 29th.
A BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was reported from Exeter on June 28th.
A family of 6 ORCHARD ORIOLES was seen along the Nashua River in Nashua on
June 27th.
An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was reported from Round Pond in Lyman on June
27th.
Several PURPLE MARTINS were reported from the Franklin area on June 30th.
An AMERICAN BITTERN was seen in a field near Powder Mill Pond in Hancock on
July 3rd.
2 GLOSSY IBIS, 2 GREAT EGRETS, 16 SNOWY EGRETS, 4 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, and 5
LESSER YELLOWLEGS were seen along the coast on June 30th.
34 LEAST SANDPIPERS, and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were reported from coastal Rye on
July 2nd.
A NELSON'S SPARROW was reported from a marshy area located at the end of
Pollock Drive in Rye on June 30th.
14 BLACK SCOTERS were seen off of Concord Point in Rye on July 2nd.
160 BONAPARTE'S GULLS were tallied at Plaice Cove in Hampton on June 30th.
COMMON LOON chicks were reported from several locations during the past
week.
