This is not totally an Upper Valley matter, but I wanted to report. Today we drove from mid-coast Maine back to Lyme - about 120 miles - and we saw at least 12 groups of wild turkeys along the roads. This was mostly on local roads and Maine and NH route 25. Some groups were as small as 2 or 3 birds; other groups were at least a dozen.
I’m used to seeing the occasional turkey along the roads, but this seems an unusually large number of sightings. Any thoughts on what’s happening?
