The first day of my weekly Project Feeder Watch observation produced the following:

Mourning Dove - 31
Downy Woodpecker - 1
Hairy Woodpecker - 1
Blue Jay - 12
Black-capped Chickadee - 6
Tufted Titmouse - 2
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 1
White-breasted Nuthatch - 2
Dark-eyed Junco - 14
Common Redpoll - 26
Pine Siskin - 3
American Goldfinch - 14

This was the third appearance this season of Redpolls at the feeders. The first was December 22. The count of 26 individuals was substantially larger than the previous two records that numbered only two or three individuals.

Also of note -- two Snow Buntings seen on River Rd. in Lyme just north of East Thetford Rd.
