Ed Hack and I birded spots around Windsor today. We visited Rice Rd,
Lake Runnemede, Mill Pond, and the floodplain near Simmon Pearce. The
morning started great, but slowed down once it began to warm up.
Highlights included a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Virgina Rail, American
Bittern and several Blackpoll Warblers along Rice Rd, a Greater
Yellowlegs, 2 Killdeer, and 3 Solitary Sandpipers around Mill Pond,
and both subspecies of Palm Warbler (Eastern at Lake Runnemede,
Western in the corn field below Simmon Pearce). We found at least 57
species for the day.
