This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, June 29th, 
2011.



There was an unconfirmed report of 5 BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCKS on the 
Campbell's Scottish Highlands Golf Course on Brady Avenue in Salem on June 
28th.



4 GREATER SHEARWATERS and 3 MANX SHEARWATERS were reported from Seavey 
Island, one of the Isles of Shoals on June 23rd, and 3 ATLANTIC PUFFINS were 
seen there on the 24th.



A SEDGE WREN was reported from along North Road in Danbury on June 28th.



At least 3 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES, and several AMERICAN PIPITS were reported 
from the Mount Washington Auto Road on June 18th.



3 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES, 5 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHERS, 6 GRAY JAYS, 2 BOREAL 
CHICKADEES, several WINTER WRENS, several SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, and several 
BLACKPOLL WARBLERS were reported from along the first mile of the Caps Ridge 
Trail located of Jefferson Notch Road on June 25th, and the addition of 4 
BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS, several MAGNOLIA WARBLERS, and several DARK-EYED 
JUNCOS were seen along the same stretch on the 26th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER and a pair of GRAY JAYS was reported from the 
Little Cherry Pond Trail, and a BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER and a GRAY JAY were 
seen on the Mud Pond Trail off of Route 116, all at the Pondicherry National 
Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on June 23rd. The Mud Pond trail entrance is 
marked by three orange flags on a fir tree at the gravel entrance road to 
the trailhead off of Route 116 located approximately 3 miles south of the 
junction of Routes 2 and 116.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER, 3 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS, several YELLOW-BELLIED 
FLYCATCHERS, 3 PHILADELPHIA VIREOS, several GRAY JAYS, a few BOREAL 
CHICKADEES, several RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, 2 TENNESSEE WARBLERS, a CAPE MAY 
WARBLER, several BAY-BREASTED WARBLERS, several BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, 2 
WILSON'S WARBLERS, 4 MOURNING WARBLERS, 6 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, several RUSTY 
BLACKBIRDS, and an EVENING GROSBEAK were all reported from Pittsburg during 
the past week.



4 PURPLE MARTINS were seen foraging at the Conway, New Hampshire and 
Fryeburg, Maine town line on June 18th.



A MERLIN was seen along Route 3 near Groveton on June 20th.
