REPLY: My wife and I started married life in a fourth floor attic apartment
off Washington Street in Newton Corner, MA. We maintained a fairly busy
bird feeder outside our bedroom window hanging from the branch of a tall
shade tree.
The tree was probably a helpful factor. Most feeder birds like cover
nearby.
