how come it’s okay to celebrate a bath tub full of rescued dovekies that have been driven off course by a storm that is most likely caused by climate change? why do we applaud teams risking their own lives to capture trapped loons and transport them to the safety of the coast?

yaay, first record ever for vermont, ash-throated flycatcher. FLYCATCHER. yep, eating mummified bugs in windowsills. the spiders that caught those have long since tucked away for winter- if it ever comes.

i don’t get why no one wants to help this bird get back to where it’s supposed to be, and instead, tic it off on their vermont bird list.

honestly, i mean no ill will to those that have seen it- it’s four miles from where i grew up. but i am not going to chase it. i just want someone, who is as interested in trapping a snowy owl on the campus of VTC to return it to a better place to realize that it’s not going to survive. its’s a FLYCATCHER.
