At 7:00 PM on the evening of Tuesday December 11, 2018, at the Howe Library in Hanover, NH, Pam Hunt is to present an illustrated talk on "Aerial Insectivores: The Who, What, Where, and Why of an Emerging Conservation Issue". This program, arranged by the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon, is free and open to the public.
Notably declining numbers of birds which feed on airborne insects, together with reported decreases in certain insect populations, have raised important conservation concerns. Dr. Hunt, a PhD graduate from Dartmouth and a
Conservation Biologist with New Hampshire Audubon, has been in a leader in studies of aerial insectivores.
For the coming winter season, the Mascoma Chapter has arranged programs at the Howe Library on the second Tuesday of each month, starting with Dr. Hunt's talk in December and continuing into April.
