spent 3.5 hours at Hartland Dam this am/noon. Starting at the power station,
below the dam.

If you have an hour treat yourself to these lepidopterian jewels....
Just park outside the main dam entrance on Clay Hill Rd (off Rt5)...pklot
there.
Then take the path thru the woods to the accesss/dike road. Just walk on
the grassy side off the dike, just inside the guard rail. Its the Acinaceae
that is making this happen.
There is tons of it... for 0.4mile. All you need are binos and field
guide. The bfs are easy to see and really dont go anywhere. Would make
great photography. (Had 4 species in bino view at one time, 5 twice last
week)....

Today produced: (on dike)
1 Viceroy
14 Monarchs
3 Com Ringlets
many Clouded Sulphurs
a few Orange Sulphurs
18 Dun Skippers
2 Red Admirals
13 Black Swallowtails
7 Co Wood Nymphs
3 Gr spangled Frittilaries
1 frit sp (too fast)
2 Am Ladies
3 Milberts Tortoiseshells
1 CAbbage White

Also on property:
