Saw a barred owl a few days ago on Tucker Hill Road in Thetford (top of the hill). It was on the EC Fiber wire, near one of the poles and then tried to jump down in front of my car at about headlight level before its wings really took hold. I’m sure I wouldn’t have seen it had it not jumped in front. Brakes work fine.

Then last night my wife heard what we think is a great horned own calling on the other side of Tucker Hill Road (hooo hooo, hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo, hooo hooo without much of any inflection), somewhere near where the Pompy goes under the bridge at the intersection with Rt 132. Its calling kept receding further west.
