This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, December 13th,
2021.

A SNOWY OWL was seen in Lebanon on December 7th, but has not been
relocated. Another SNOWY OWL continues to be seen in coastal Hampton and
Seabrook.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen flying over Sandwich on December 12th.

A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen again in the Berlin area at Success Pond Road
on December 8th.

A NORTHERN HARRIER was seen in Gilford on December 7th.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the intersection of Jenney Road and True Road
in Plainfield on December 9th.

2 GLAUCOUS GULLS were seen on the Seabrook side of Hampton Harbor, and an
ICELAND GULL was seen at Hedgehog Pond in Salem, all on December 11th.

A RAZORBILL and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were seen from Odiorne Point State Park
in Rye on December 10th.

16 HORNED GREBES and 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen from Kona Farm Road on
Lake Winnipesauke in Moultonborough on December 13th.

At least 2 BARROW’S GOLDENEYES continued to be seen from Stark Landing on
the Merrimack River in Manchester during the past week.

A GADWALL was seen in Philbrick Marsh in North Hampton on December 12th, 1
was seen at Widow Harris Brook in Salem on the 11th, and 1 was seen on
Great Bay on the 7th. 

3 NORTHERN PINTAILS were seen in the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on
December 12th.

A WOOD DUCK was seen in Pittsfield on December 7th.

A flock of 342 COMMON MERGANSERS was seen from the Center Harbor Town Docks
on Lake Winnipesauke on December 12th.

2 SNOW GEESE were reported from Durham on December 10th.

A BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was seen on December 7th, a NORTHERN PARULA
was seen on the 12th, and a PRAIRIE WARBLER was seen on the 12th, all at
the Hampton Wastewater Treatment Plant.

An OVENBIRD was seen in Londonderry on December 12th.

A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen in Exeter on December 9th.

A PINE WARBLER was seen near the junction of Central Road and Route 1A in
Rye on December 12th.

A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen in Pittsfield several times during the
past week and was last reported on December 12th.

A DICKCISSEL continued to be seen at a private residence in Rochester
during the past week and was last seen there on December 10th.

2 RED CROSSBILLS were reported from Marlborough on December 10th.

5 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on December
12th, 2 were seen in coastal Hampton on the 12th, 3 were seen in fields at
56 Intervale Road in Canterbury on the 13th, and 2 were seen in Milford on
the 8th.

5 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at Silver Lake in Harrisville on December
10th.

A BARN SWALLOW was seen for several days at North Hampton State Beach and
was last reported on December 9th.

A flock of 82 TURKEY VULTURES was seen soaring over Exeter on December 9th.

Lingering migrants reported during the past week included: MERLIN, AMERICAN
KESTREL, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, HERMIT THRUSH,
GRAY CATBIRD, VESPER SPARROW, and RUSTY BLACKBIRD.
