I went to bed listening to the monotonous voice of our resident saw-whet owl, calling from the edge of Coyote Hollow wetland, and woke up listening to the monotonous voice of a black-billed cuckoo, calling from the pines beyond my bedroom window. Ah, the joys of birding from the comforts of your own  bedroom.
