Nathaniel Sharp and I are watching the Western Kingbird right now at Campbell Flat. It’s performing brilliantly as it sallies from treetops long the driveway by mailbox #122 out over the adjacent open field and back. This is at least the third consecutive day the bird has been present here (Tii McLane and a Kyle Jones found it on Saturday morning), but it is not always easily findable. This was my third try!

Anyone who comes to look for this rare vagrant is asked to stay on the road or mowed paths and avoid entering the fields on the road’s north side. Be patient, as the bird may perch motionless for awhile before sallying out.

Good luck.
Chris
