Lots of FOY birds this past week. Last Friday we had a high count of
four Baltimore Orioles singing over our fields. It's too bad they
usually only pass through. This afternoon a Bobolink's bubbly song
greeted me from near the bog at Croydon Four Corners, and I spotted
him...on the ground??? He was singing from a clump of grass in a field.

Wandering around Croydon today netted all these:
Great Blue Heron
Canada Geese
Mallards
Killdeer
Mourning Doves
Belted Kingfisher
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Hairy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Eastern Phoebe
Great Crested Flycatcher
Blue Jay
Common Raven
Black-capped Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Veery ("veer" calls only. Can't wait 'til these start singing)
Hermit Thrush
American Robins
Nashville Warbler
Northern Parula
Chestnut-sided Warblers
Blackburnian Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warblers
Black-throated Green Warblers
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-and-white Warblers
Common Yellowthroat
Ovenbirds
Scarlet Tanager
Chipping Sparrow
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Baltimore Oriole
Bobolink
Red-winged Blackbird
Common Grackle
American Goldfinch

Last Friday I stopped at Pillsbury State Park in Washington, NH, where I
found a similar list to the above with some additions such as Least
Flycatcher. The Common Loons are back, and I also lucked into seeing a
Baybreasted Warbler.
