As of around 3 PM today, there was (is?) a Northern Shoveler in the puddle
in front of the St. Barnabas church on Beaver Meadow Rd. in Norwich. (about
a mile out of town in the left.)
Glossy Ibis report:
Has moved around to various flooded fields in the rt. 12 area- last seen at
a distance on the Pomfret Rd. across from big red barn.
I keep hearing reports that someone moved towards it and scared it away.
Please, folks, this is a beautiful sight, and great to photograph, but let's
try to give it some space? Use a long lens or a spotting scope....then we
can all enjoy the bird and it will remain undisturbed. Just my $.02.

Lots of arrivals at Dewey's mills- will report later.

Cynthia Crawford
