Family of Black Ducks with 5 ducklings
Mommy Merganser (presumably Common, seen previously) with 4 ducklings, 1
riding on the back
Pair of Piliated Woodpeckers
Female Hummingbird high up on the tip of a dead tree (confirmed with
binoculars)
Possible Philadelphia Vireo (black eyes, yellow wash on breast, similar
song to Red-eyed, but slower, more deliberate)
A note regarding another email: we have had for a while a thriving
community of Kestrels at the confluence of the Indian and Mascoma
Rivers, a pair seen earlier this season.
