Myself and more than 20 other birders joined George Clark and the Mascoma
Audubon for a productive walk in Norwich this morning. The highlight for me
was a Merlin chasing a male Eastern Bluebird on Campbell Flats Road... five
minutes later the Bluebird was singing its heart out.
Elsewhere in Norwich we found a few Common Goldeneye, Red-tailed Hawks, a
Golden-Crowned Kinglet and a Coopers Hawk. 30 species in all!
Continuing south after 11, a few of use found some nice surprises, including
a Northern Shrike at the Wilder Dam and 2 Peregrine Falcons at the
Springfield Meadows.
Good Birding,
Spencer
