This must have been the same flock of nighthawks I saw a bit later,
around 7pm last night, over the Connecticut just north of the
Lyme-Thetford bridge.  I counted over 20 birds, making their way slowly
upstream as they fed.

Great nighthawk show tonight right at exit 13 of I-91 (Norwich/Hanover),

6:12 pm. Some of the best looks I've had of them locally, feeding 
actively in low-angle sunlight, close to the ground. At least a couple 
dozen were involved while I watched.
