From 7:00 to 9:30 AM on Saturday September 27, 2014, a bird walk
arranged by the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon and led by
George Clark is to be held in a Windsor (VT) floodplain area. This
bird walk is free and open to the public. Bring binoculars and scopes
if available. Participants should be prepared to walk as much as a
mile over fairly level but uneven terrain as well as through possibly
damp vegetation. We'll be looking for all kinds of birds in an area
noted for fall flocks of yellow-rumped warblers and sparrows. If there
should unfortunately be steady, heavy rain, this trip will be cancelled.

Route instructions: For those who wish to carpool from the Hanover/
Norwich area, meet at 6:30 AM in the commuter parking lot at the west
end of the Ledyard Bridge. For those coming from Hanover across the
Ledyard Bridge, take an immediate right turn at the traffic light at
the west end of the bridge onto Norwich's River Road, and then take an
immediate left into the parking lot.

The bird walk will begin at 7:00 AM at the north side of the parking
lot near (just north of) the Simon Pearce showroom in the Windsor
Industrial Park. To reach this starting point from Exit 9 off I-91 in
Hartland, turn southward on Route 5 towards Windsor. Then take the
first left hand turn (a little over a half mile from Exit 9) which
leads into the Park. Follow that paved Park Road into the large
parking lot where the walk is to begin.

Norwich, VT
