This morning on the sumac trees behind my bird feeders in Cornish I was treated to both the male and female Pileated Woodpecker, each totally engrossed in consuming a seed head. Close and prolonged views are so unusual, so this was really nice. And a pair of Eastern Bluebirds continue to stake out their box.
And later in the day from the top of French’s Ledges in Meriden, 2 gliding Turkey Vultures made spring’s arrival official!
