In Enfield Center this PM M B. Oriole
First heard, than with patience seen, in my yard, M. Common Yellowthroat. I was wondering where he was this year.
I have been hearing Oven Bird (2), Black-Throated Green, and Black-Throated Blue in the woods around my yard.
Tonight I went out briefly to listen for the Whip-poor-will.
Not heard this year yet. Last year I heard one for 4 nights, the 12th - 14th of June. Fire flies are out and we have a frog ? with loud long trill sometimes during the day and late into the evening.
Nice specimen of a Luna Moth on the post office window in Enfield Ctr. today.
There are two sets of Canada Geese with Goslings at George Pond. One set had 5, now 4, the other has 7. They are growing fast and are now turning darker in color.
Last week I noted 19 C. Geese in a group on the pond. Non breeding age I guess.
Nesting birds: One Chickadee in house by the small pond and one Tree Swallow in the house in the front yard.
Robins on the lawn probably nesting in the woods. There is a Robin nest in one of my bushes, but the two eggs came up missing.
