A group of seven birders visited Dr. Len Reitsma's Canada Warbler study area in the Bear Pond area of Canaan, NH, this morning. Besides enjoying the first decent birding weather for too many days, we were treated to a great presentation of the history, challenges, and findings of Len's years of study here.

The highlight, of course, was being surrounded by Canada Warblers everywhere, along with a good number of Nashvilles, Magnolias, Redstarts, and mosquitoes. About 30 other species were also id'd, along with a Tree Frog and a Lady's Slipper. Heard, but not seen, was an Olive-sided Flycatcher.

Thanks, Len, for a great time.

This trip was sponsored by the Mascoma Chapter of NH Audubon.
See mascomabirds.com for upcoming trips.
