The highlight of a 30-minute walk this morning around the uncut corn
field behind the Woodstock sewage lagoon was 9 Rusty Blackbirds, which
flew from the corn into hedgerow trees not 10 feet over my head and
remained there for well over a minute. One gave a brief squeaky-hinge
song. Also 8 species of sparrows, 9 if you count House.
