This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 11th, 
2012. .



11 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were reported by a hiker from Mount Starr King, Mount 
Waumbek, South Weeks, North Weeks, Mount Cabot and The Horn, all in the 
White Mountains on July 7th and 8th.



3 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were seen on Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch on 
July 8th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen on Mount Waumbek and 1 was seen on Mount 
Weeks in the White Mountain National Forest on July 7th.



5 GRAY JAYS and 2 BOREAL CHICKADEES were seen on North Weeks Mountain and 2 
GRAYS were reported from Mount Cabot on July 8th. 2 BOREAL CHICKADEES were 
seen on Middle Weeks Mountain, and 4 were seen on The Horn near Mount Cabot, 
also on the 8th.



A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was reported from White Ledges on Mount Sunapee, 
1 was seen on Cannon Mountain, and 1 was reported from Mount Cabot, all on 
July 8th.



A TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen on the forest service road into Elbow Pond in 
Woodstock on July 8th.



A PALM WARBLER was reported from Mud Pond in the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge 
in Jefferson on July 8th.



7 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at a birdfeeder in Troy on July 7th.



There are 2 pairs of nesting COMMON NIGHTHAWKS in Concord known to be 
feeding young during the past week.



A MERLIN was seen at Great Boar's Head in Hampton on July 4th, and 1 was 
seen along Route 25 in Wentworth on the 8th.



2 NELSON'S SPARROWS were reported from salt pannes located along Route 1A 
just south of Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on July 7th.



2 SALTMARSH SPARROWS and an AMERICAN BITTERN were reported from The Nature 
Conservancy's Lubberland Creek Preserve located off of Bay Road in Newmarket 
on July 7th.



A VESPER SPARROW was seen along Chenell Drive in Concord on July 6th.



A GREAT CORMORANT and 16 BLACK SCOTERS were seen off of the coast Rye on 
July 7th.



14 ROSEATE TERNS, and 50 COMMON TERNS were tallied in Hampton Harbor on July 
7th.



3 LEAST SANDPIPERS, and a LESSER YELLOWLEGS were seen in the exposed 
mudflats on Powder Mill Pond in Hancock during the past week.



2 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen along the coast on July 4th.



A pair of BALD EAGLES and a young BALD EAGLE were all seen together on a 
nest on Leach's Island in New Castle on July 7th.



A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen in an urban area of Manchester on July 7th.



2 FISH CROWS were seen harassing 2 COMMON RAVENS in Durham on July 11th.
