Hello, 
First let me thank all who responded to my 2 posts. Because the responses 
were mixed I sent my pictures to the NH audobon Society and they were 
looked at by one of their naturalists there.
The bird I thought was a grey kingbird is an Eastern phoebe.  As for the pics 
of the reddish birds, they were of a male purple finch. She told me I was lucky 
to have seen them because their numbers are down here in New Hampshire. I 
hope I will get to see them again and get more pics of them. I wonder if they 
like thistle like the goldfinches do. 
Thank you so much for all your help. I am very new to this and I think it takes 
a long time to learn which bird is which.
