This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, June 30th, 
2010.



A BLACK TERN, a BRANT, and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were reported from along the 
coast on June 27th.



A CERULEAN WARBLER was reported from Mount Wantastiquet in Hindsdale on June 
20th



A BREWSTER'S WARBLER, a hybrid between a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and a 
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, has been seen regularly on Captain's Way in Exeter.



3 male and 1 female RUDDY DUCKS were seen at the Derry Wastewater Treatment 
Plant on June 30th. If you visit the plant let the gate attendant know that 
you are going up to the plant, and then stop off at the plant office (last 
building on the left) and get permission to look for birds. Please stay on 
the outside of the fence that goes around all the pools, and let plant 
personnel know when you leave.



At least 8 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES and 5 AMERICAN PIPITS were reported from near 
the Mount Washington Auto Road, and 3 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES were seen, and 2 
more were heard on the summit of Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch, all on 
June 27th.



A female SPRUCE GROUSE was seen on the Franconia Ridge Trail on June 26th.



A female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen in the Pondicherry National 
Wildlife Refuge, along the railroad tracks about 1.2 miles north of Cherry 
Pond.



4 PURPLE MARTINS were reported from Conway on June 30th.



A colony of 40 CLIFF SWALLOWS, and 6 EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from 
Milan on June 25th.



A BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was reported from Newmarket on June 30th.



19 WHIP-POOR-WILLS were reported from the Freedom Town Forest on June 23rd.



Over 14 SALTMARSH SPARROWS, 12 WILLETS, and 28 COMMON TERNS were tallied in 
Hampton Marsh on June 30th.



4 SORAS and 4 VIRGINIA RAILS were reported from a wetland in Nashua on June 
28th.



2 VIRGINIA RAILS, and a family group of 3 ORCHARD ORIOLES were reported from 
the Trails at Pickering Ponds located off of Pickering Road in Rochester on 
June 25th.



2 VIRGINIA RAILS were reported from Harper's Meadow, and several nesting 
PALM WARBLERS were reported from Floating Island Bog, all in Errol on June 
25th.



9 VIRGINIA RAILS were reported from Locke Road in Concord on June 22nd.



3 VIRGINIA RAILS and an AMERICAN BITTERN were reported from the Pontook 
Reservoir in Dummer on June 25th.
