Mink Brook Nature Preserve in Hanover had some nice bird activity this morning, highlighted by a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher that gave me a nice view and a good opportunity to hear him calling. Other highlights included a Swainson’s Thrush, a Lincoln’s Sparrow, my first pewee of the spring (along the River Trail, outside the Preserve proper), and at least five singing Tennessee Warblers, four of which were concentrated in one short stretch of trail where there were a lot of blooming apple trees. Plenty of the usual colorful suspects were around as well.
