A group of >20 birders met at Runnemede this morning for an excellent
Windsor County Quest outing. The weekend grebe fallout continued, all 5
swallows were seen, and we enjoyed the spring's first real influx of
Yellow-rumped Warblers. Highlights:
Ring-necked Duck 1 male
Horned Grebe 4 in full breeding plumage
Double-crested Cormorant 7
Great Egret 1
Bald Eagle 1 adult
Broad-winged Hawk 1
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 12
Tree Swallow 80, probably undercounted
Barn Swallow 6
Cliff Swallow 1
Bank Swallow 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 8
Northern Waterthrush 1 singing
Palm Warbler (Yellow) 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler 35
American Tree Sparrow 1
Savannah Sparrow 2
Swamp Sparrow 3 singing
White-throated Sparrow 2
Eastern Meadowlark 2 along border of pumpkin field
Rusty Blackbird 1 male
Evening Grosbeak 2 heard calling across lake
