This afternoon, after seeing a report of a Least Sandpiper at Jacob’s Brook Outflow in Orford, I went up there to find that the water level was too high - no exposed mud/sand flats. On the Route 10 side, I found a small exposed mud/sand flat, partially hidden through the vegetation where there were a number of waders including, in the course of over an hour, at least 4 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 each of Lesser Yellowlegs, Semipalmated Plovers and spotted sandpipers, 3 LeastSandpipers and a single Solitary Sandpiper. Additionally, I saw my FOY Green Heron and a flock of Bank Swallows..
