I was kayaking on Grafton Pond Wednesday, and saw 2 Loon Families- one
family with 2 chicks and one family still nesting. Apparently there are
others there as well. The big excitement was the arrival of a Bald
Eagle which created an uproar. The Loons started calling frantically
and a small bird chased the Eagle around the pond. I took some pictures
of both the Loons and the Eagle. Although the Eagle photos aren't great,
I wanted to record the event. It looks to me like this bird has bands on
both legs- does anyone know anything about this? The last time I saw an
Eagle there was several years ago.
