Thanks to Jenn Megyesi for catching an error in road instructions in my UVB message of this morning. The road instructions below have been corrected.

This is a reminder that on Saturday March 18, 2017, from 8 to 11 AM, Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon plans to hold a bird walk, led by Blake Allison, George Clark, Ed Hack, Scott Johnson, Jeff MacQueen, and Chris Rimmer, to look for migratory waterbirds and other birds along the Vermont side of the Connecticut River and nearby. This bird walk is free and open to the public. Bring binoculars and, if available, scopes. Dress warmly. A total of a mile or more of walking over fairly level, but possibly snow-covered, terrain might be necessary. In an unfortunate case, if road conditions are hazardous or steady heavy precipitation falling, this walk would be canceled.

Road Instructions: Because of very limited parking space in certain sites, carpooling is strongly encouraged. Our initial meeting will be at 8:00 AM in the parking lot off River Road in Norwich, VT. If coming from Hanover, cross the Ledyard Bridge into VT, then take an immediate right turn onto River Road, and then an immediate left turn into the unpaved parking lot.

George Clark
Norwich, VT
